Turkish indie developer SoulByte Games has released a new update for *Devil of the Plague*, an action-adventure game currently in Early Access that supports single-player and co-op multiplayer for up to four players.

The Final Pre-Official Update Featuring New Mini-Games and Systems

In *Devil of the Plague*, players take on the role of a plague doctor aiming to complete an ancient ritual while confronting hostile entities across eerie stages to purge the plague spread by the ancient demon ASAG.

A major update—Version 0.9—has now been released. This marks the final update for the Early Access period, which has been ongoing since May 2026.

Considered the largest update to date, its contents—including the addition of mini-games that allow players to play together in the lobby—are as follows.

Version 0.9 Content

  • Mini-games and training added
to the pre-mission lobby: “Rat Race”—a
competitive race where you aim for the fastest time using free controls; “Whack-a-Rat”—a “rat-whacking”
game (rather than the classic “whack-a-mole”) where you compete for the highest score; “Dukebox”—allows
you to select the BGM playing in the lobby“Training”—Practice using a lantern, the most basic survival skill

  • New Mechanic: “Occult Board”—Triggers three adverse events, except for automatically completing one ritual

  • New Mechanic: “Cryptex”—A treasure chest that can be opened using four clues scattered throughout the map

  • “Axe Throw,” “Bottle Throw,” and “Crossbow”—New ways to counter worsening situations have been added

  • Hiding Spots—Locations such as lockers and closets have been added throughout the stage where you can hide and wait out bosses and other threats.

  • "Afterlife Doors"—In single-player mode, the "Blue Door" allows you to follow the process of reviving after death; in multiplayer, the "Red Door" is added, which lets you harass surviving teammates for a limited time

Additionally, improvements have been made to boss behavior, game performance, ghost effects, and gamepad support. For more details, check the Steam News.
