The international YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has released a video comparing the graphics of the PS5 version of *Minecraft* with those of the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

In Quality Mode, the rendering of light and shadows is on par with the PS5. However, there are differences in draw distance and frame rate.

The Switch 2 version supports the “Vibrant Visuals” feature, which enhances the rendering of elements such as clouds, water reflections, and shadows cast by the sun. While this feature was already available on other platforms, it was not supported on the original Switch version.

The video features a side-by-side comparison of the PS5 version and the Switch 2 version (released on October 28) in three modes: “Performance Mode” and “Quality Mode.” Note that the specific settings for Performance Mode are not clearly specified, so the presence or absence of “Vibrant Visuals” may vary depending on the scene.

When comparing Quality Mode to the PS5 version, the rendering effects of “Vibrant Visuals”—such as the shadows of falling leaves under trees, the way sunlight spreads, and the deep blue hues underwater—are reproduced almost identically.

On the other hand, a noticeable difference lies in the draw distance. While Quality Mode renders distant buildings and terrain, the PS5 version allows you to see even farther, including mountains and forests in the distance.

Regarding frame rate, in the “Quality” setting of Vibrant Visuals, we observed scenes where the frame rate fluctuated in the 30–40 fps range. Note that in settings without Vibrant Visuals or in the “Performance” setting, the frame rate generally remains at 60 fps.

Although it doesn’t quite match the PS5 in terms of draw distance and frame rate, the overall presentation—including lighting and shadows—is rendered at a level close to that of the PS5.

The Switch 2 version of *Minecraft* is now on sale. The standard edition is priced at 4,730 yen. Owners of the original Switch digital version can upgrade to the Switch 2 digital version for 100 yen, but this offer is available for a limited time only through January 31, 2027.
