British developer Maze Theory has released new footage from its upcoming MR/VR adventure, *Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars*, currently in development.
In-development footage from inside the spaceship that captures the atmosphere of the movie
Following the gameplay footage unveiled at gamescom 2026 in August, the studio has now released in-development footage showing the interior of the spaceship. The team states that they are developing the game with direct reference to the film.
An original story by the author of the source novel
The game is said to feature an original story by American science fiction author Andy Weir, who wrote the original novel *Project Hail Mary*. Previously, a video featuring comments on the game from Weir, along with the film’s directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, was also released.
Scheduled for Release in 2026
*Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars*, in which players take on the role of protagonist Leland Grace, is compatible with Meta Quest 3/3S/Pro, PICO, and Android XR, and is scheduled for release sometime in 2026.The Meta Store, which carries the Meta Quest version, is currently accepting pre-orders at a limited-time discount price of 2,800 yen. The PICO Store lists the release date as November 12.
