Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to create even more together with The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Development is still underway, and while it will be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location to you.

Bethesda Game Studios mentioned on its official Bluesky and X (formerly Twitter) accounts that development is ongoing for *The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel* (hereinafter referred to as *TES6*), whose official title has been announced, and that it will take “a while” before further information is released.
Development is ongoing; it will be “a while” before further updates are announced
The official title of the latest installment in the series, *TES6*, was revealed at the end of a video celebrating Bethesda’s 40th anniversary, released on November 3.The video included hints that the setting is Hammerfell, as well as the year “4E 206” (the 206th year of the Fourth Era), which takes place five years after the events of *Skyrim*.
Following the announcement of the official title, Bethesda Game Studios expressed gratitude to fans for the past 40 years and shared their excitement about the reveal, while also noting that development is ongoing and that it will “take a while” before they can share further details.
Additionally, Jason Schreier, a reporter for the international media outlet Bloomberg, mentioned on his Bluesky account that the game’s release is “still more than two years away.” Furthermore, in a reply to a user who asked for the basis of this claim, he commented, “This is not a prediction. I know the timeframe the game is targeting.”
If Mr. Schreiber’s statement is accurate, the release of *TES6* would likely be no earlier than the second half of 2028; however, this is merely information provided by him, and no specific release date has yet been announced officially.
I think a lot of people forget that *The Elder Scrolls VI* was only announced in 2018 (along with *Starfield*) to soften the blow of *Fallout 76*—"Don’t worry, even though we’re making a multiplayer game, we’ve got single-player stuff coming too!"
