The “Tokyo Game Show 2026” kicked off on September 17. Once again, the energy at the venue was electric, with a wide variety of booths on display. Among the many booths, one stood out in particular with its cool, black-and-orange color scheme. That was BenQ’s “MOBIUZ” booth. In this article, we’ll focus on hands-on experiences at the MOBIUZ booth and explore the brand’s unwavering commitment to visual beauty and the appeal of its products.
When it comes to BenQ gaming monitors, the “ZOWIE” series—known for helping players win in competitive FPS scenes—is famous. However, the “MOBIUZ” brand showcased at this event is clearly positioned as a separate offering, designed to let players immerse themselves in the beautiful worlds of RPGs and other games and enjoy gaming as a form of “art.”
The booth, designed with the concept of an “art museum” in mind to embody this very philosophy, featured four themed exhibits: “01 Game Art Color,” “02 Game Art Color HDR,” “03 The Art of Game World,” and “04 WQHD GAMING MONITORS.”

01 Game Art Color

In the first area, “01 Game Art Color,” visitors could witness the tremendous impact of “Color Mode” through a demo video of the MMORPG *AION 2*. This exhibit allowed side-by-side comparisons on the exact same monitor between the standard “sRGB” setting and the “Fantasy” mode—one of three proprietary color modes. When compared side-by-side, the monitor with “Fantasy” mode applied displayed such high contrast and vivid colors that the sRGB display seemed somewhat flat in comparison. It was particularly impressive how not only was the saturation enhanced, but even the fine details of textures—such as fabric and rock surfaces—were beautifully accentuated.
MOBIUZ’s color team analyzed the art styles of hundreds of games and developed three dedicated modes—“Fantasy,” “Sci-Fi,”(color reproduction tailored to near-future settings and neon colors) and “Realistic” (a mode that renders realistic graphics naturally and in fine detail).
The monitor used here was the “EX321UZ” model. It features 4K UHD resolution, a quantum dot OLED panel, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Since you’re playing games on a 4K OLED monitor, you’ll naturally want to be particular about color reproduction. The appeal here is that you can easily fine-tune the colors using the color modes.
02 Game Art Color HDR

In the next area, “02 Game Art Color HDR,” MOBIUZ showcased its new feature: a unique HDR experience. With standard HDR on monitors, depending on the game, dark areas can sometimes be crushed into pure black, or the entire image can be washed out. However, MOBIUZ’s “Game Art Color HDR” offers three settings: Clear, Balance, and Rich.
Watching the demo footage at the booth, I saw that even in dark cave scenes, the details in the background and the atmosphere of the lighting were faithfully preserved. Rather than simply making the darkness darker, this HDR—which conveys that “there is distinct texture even in the dark”—is a feature that significantly enhances immersion in the game’s world. Personally, I often found that HDR simply made the screen feel darker, so I hadn’t been keen on using it for gaming. However, with a monitor featuring this technology, details in dark areas were easy to see, and I was impressed by the unique depth of HDR—which goes beyond simply increasing brightness.
The model featured at this booth was the “EX271UZ.” It’s the same model as the “EX321UZ” but with a more compact screen size, and it shares the same specifications: 4K UHD, quantum dot OLED, and a 240Hz refresh rate.

03 The Art of Game World

In the “03 The Art of Game World” area, hands-on demos and video presentations were held featuring a lineup of top-tier titles such as Square Enix’s *FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION*, Koei Tecmo Games’ *Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember*, and Capcom’s *Pragmata*. Here, BenQ has configured recommended color modes tailored to the unique worlds of each game.
For example, “Realistic” mode was set for *FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION* to recreate a realistic world with sharp contrast between light and dark. For dark fantasy titles like *Wo Long 2*, “Fantasy” mode was used to emphasize flame effects and the textures of stone and leather. And for sci-fi worlds like *Pragmata*, the “Sci-Fi” mode was set to create metallic textures and a near-future atmosphere. This allowed visitors to experience the “optimal settings” designed to bring out 100% of each title’s artistic appeal.

Each game was accompanied by comments from its developers. Just like in the previous exhibit, the “EX271UZ” was used for this display as well.
04 WQHD GAMING MONITORS
The final “04 WQHD GAMING MONITORS” area showcased the latest WQHD monitors and other models, expanded to meet a variety of needs. The lineup consisted entirely of new products—ranging from OLED models to those equipped with IPS panels—allowing visitors to compare differences in picture quality and refresh rates firsthand to find the monitor best suited to their playstyle.

The “EX271QZ” is a 26.5-inch WQHD quantum dot OLED monitor that supports a maximum refresh rate of 500 Hz. It’s a “powerful” model that delivers beautiful visuals while also supporting competitive gameplay. It’s safe to say this is a high-end model for gamers who don’t want to compromise on either the immersive gaming experience or high refresh rates.

Its neighbor, the “EX271QMZ,” is also a 26.5-inch WQHD quantum dot OLED monitor, but its refresh rate is 240 Hz—a bit more modest compared to the previous model.…That said, I think its specs are more than sufficient for everyday use. With a retail price that sometimes drops below 100,000 yen, this model offers excellent value for the money, and I believe it’s an excellent choice for gamers looking to upgrade to an OLED or WQHD monitor.

The “EX271QM” is a WQHD IPS LCD monitor that remains in high demand among gamers. With a 27-inch screen and a 320Hz refresh rate—more than enough for gaming—and the ability to use the color modes mentioned earlier, it’s a strong contender for gamers who don’t require OLED technology.

Finally, the “EX271QP” is the entry-level model in this lineup. While it doesn’t stand out in any single area—featuring WQHD resolution, an IPS panel, a 27-inch screen, and a 260Hz refresh rate—all of its specifications are more than sufficient. It offers exceptional value for the price and is likely to become quite popular.
Furthermore, all new models are equipped with technologies that enhance visual quality, such as “High Pixel Contrast Adjustment,” which separately adjusts dark and bright areas in real time to prevent crushed blacks and blown-out whites, and “Gradation Color Correction,” which eliminates color banding to render smooth effects like a sunset sky.

This year’s “MOBIUZ” booth offered a wealth of content, ranging from a variety of brand-new 4K/WQHD monitors to comparisons of color modes tailored to different visual themes.
All of the latest monitors introduced here feature proprietary “Color Modes” (Fantasy / Sci-Fi / Realistic). The three models—EX321UZ, EX271UZ, and EX271QZ—also feature “Game Art Color HDR.” No matter which model you choose, it brings out the full potential of each game’s art style—a delightful feature unique to MOBIUZ.
Not only does BenQ have its competitive gaming brand “ZOWIE,” but its MOBIUZ brand—which specializes in “immersion in visual beauty”—also boasts a fantastic lineup. The MOBIUZ booth, where the latest technology and a respect for game art converged, was truly like an “art museum”—a wonderful space where you could enjoy the evolution of gaming expression just by walking through it.
