Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that it will release the smartphone action game *Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match—Reiwa Revival Edition* in the fall of 2026.
In conjunction with this, the “Kinnikuman Superhuman General Election 2026” will be held, and the superhumans ranked at the top will be granted the right to appear in the game.
A total of 50 superhumans are scheduled to appear! The game will also feature multiplayer battles via Bluetooth.
This title is a smartphone revival of the competitive action game *Kinnikuman: Muscle Tag Match*, originally released by Bandai in 1985.
In the original game, players selected two superhumans from a roster of eight to form a tag team and battle. By grabbing the “Ball of Life” thrown into the ring by Meat-kun, players could activate special moves unique to each superhuman. The Reiwa Revival Edition follows these original rules.
A total of 50 superheroes are scheduled to appear, including newly added characters. The game also supports 2-player battles via Bluetooth, allowing you to enjoy head-to-head combat. Note that both players must purchase and install the app to play in 2-player mode.
Results from the “Superhuman General Election 2026” Will Be Reflected in the Game
In the “Kinnikuman Superhuman General Election 2026,” in addition to the top 20 ranked superhumans, the superhumans ranked 29th and 50th will be granted the right to appear in the “Reiwa Revival Edition.”
If a character who cannot appear in the game due to its specifications—such as certain non-combat Superhumans or human characters—enters the qualifying ranks, the next-ranked character will be promoted to take their place.
The voting period runs from October 1, 2026, until 11:59 p.m. on October 12. The results are scheduled to be announced in Issue 47 of “Weekly Playboy,” on sale November 9, and on the official “Kinnikuman” website.
Additionally, 29 voters will be selected by lottery to receive a serial code that allows them to create original merchandise for this title for free on “Jump LAB.”
