From Thursday, September 17, to Sunday, September 20, 2026, the “Tokyo Game Show 2026” (hereinafter “TGS2026”), celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, was held at Makuhari Messe.
In Hall 09-E105, Nestpi—the developer behind the hit “Chill with You: Lo-Fi Story,” a work-in-progress adventure game—had a booth set up, featuring an exhibit for*Chill with You: SHIOI’s Sparkling Scenes*, was also on display.

At the booth, which also featured new Satone merchandise, we spoke with Mr. Hisahisa Terashima, who is in charge of promotions, to hear more about the new release!

―― (While watching the trailer) In the previous title, the calls took place in Satone-chan’s room, but this time, the calls happen in quite a variety of locations, don’t they?
Mr. Terashima: That’s right! We’ve completely revamped the rendering engine for this title, allowing us to change weather conditions and the angle of the sun in real time. Depending on the time of day—24 hours a day—the location where you connect with Shioi varies. So far, we’ve revealed the school, her bedroom, and the library as available locations.

――What kind of character is Shioi?
Mr. Terashima: While Satone from the previous game was a very serious girl, Shioi tends to slack off. We envision an experience tailored to her character—where you think, “I want to work because she’s here,” and start a work call with Shioi.
Just changing the character has made the way you start working and how you feel about it completely different. Looking at the reactions since the announcement, it’s interesting to see that the countries where she’s attracting attention are quite different from those for the previous title.I think it’s a coincidence, but the previous game’s Satone was apparently just the right amount of approachable, which made her popular in China as well. However, on social media, there are many comments saying that the blonde gal is right up their alley.
It seems the concept of a “gal who’s otaku-friendly” hasn’t really caught on yet—in fact, I’ve even received feedback that she comes across as a bit intimidating at first. It turns out Japanese people really do like gals.
――So, is Shiomi-chan an “otaku-friendly gal”?
Mr. Terashima: She’s a gal who’s kind to everyone!

――That’s fine too…! She might just shake things up in Chinese gal culture.
Mr. Terashima: She’s the kind of gal the director likes! I think she’ll have a girly, schoolgirl-like vibe. As for her outfits, we plan to have her change them depending on the location—like wearing a school uniform at school and loungewear in her room.
Also, we got feedback from China asking for “ponytails.” We hadn’t planned on updating the previous game, so we couldn’t make her hair long back then. Since we’re designing this one with that in mind, I think the DLC will be pretty flashy. We might even be able to create locations like the beach or a café… though since it’s rated for all ages, whether we can include swimsuits is another matter (laughs).
――She’s such a fashionista! But since the locations are changing… does that mean there won’t be a scenery-changing feature like in the previous game?
Mr. Terashima: That’s right; the scenery won’t change. Instead, we’re planning new sound effects and music that differ from the previous game, such as ambient sounds like the sounds of a bustling crowd or streetlights—elements that weren’t in the previous title. Also, while the tool functions are basically the same, there are some differences, such as how music is displayed (in Shioi, the music list looks like an album).

――I’m looking forward to seeing the game’s unique character. You mentioned it’s set for release within the year, right?
Mr. Terashima: Yes. We’ll be releasing various updates leading up to the release. For this game, which features “gal” characters, we’ve commissioned illustrator Shimogori to handle the character designs.
We do plan to include some cross-over elements with the previous title, but they’ll be minor—it’s not as if Satone will be making an appearance… While the settings share some common ground, the story itself is completely different. Speaking of the story, we’re planning a much more substantial narrative for this title than the previous one!
――Finally, could you share a few words for the players eagerly awaiting the release?
Mr. Terashima: We’re currently in the process of improving the quality, and I think it will keep getting even better! Please look forward to it!
――Thank you very much!
