A project called “WattWorlds,” which links *The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim* with a real-life exercise bike, is currently being developed by a group of volunteers.
Lose weight while playing *Skyrim*!? An app that lets you knock over NPCs is in development
"WattWorlds" is an app project combining "indoor cycling and open-world gaming" led by Jonathan, a road cyclist and programmer.Through dedicated apps for PC and smartphones, compatible exercise bikes (*supporting the “ANT+ FE-C” or “Bluetooth FTMS” standards) will function as game controllers.
As of this writing, the app is compatible with *Skyrim* (presumably the Special Edition, version 1.5.97 or later, based on the in-game footage). The demo video showcases players “racing through the game world on a bike,” andyou can see features such as changing direction in sync with the handlebars where the smartphone is mounted, and casting spells by recognizing hand gestures via the front camera.
Furthermore, it is reported that the game’s altitude is linked to the exercise bike’s resistance, and the bike’s wattage affects the in-game speed.
As of this writing, “WattWorlds” is under development for *Skyrim*. No registration is required, and the app will be available for free.
