Mega Crit Games, the developer behind the deck-building roguelike *Slay the Spire 2*, revealed in a developer update published on October 30, 2026,"NeoLetter - October 2026" that the next major beta patch is scheduled for release on November 13.
This marks the first major beta update in about three months! New content will first be released on the experimental branch
The development team explained that, since August—with the exception of a one-week studio-wide vacation—they have been working on creating major new content. Due to the significant amount of work required across game design, UI/UX, art, animation, and balance adjustments, they had been unable to specify a release date for the next update until now.
They have now announced that the next major beta patch is scheduled for release on November 13. New experimental content will initially be available exclusively on the beta branch to allow for bug detection and balance adjustments.
Meanwhile, the regular main branch will incorporate the content from the current beta version, “v0.111.0,” and is scheduled to include various balance adjustments and bug fixes in addition to new content. Please note that specific details regarding the new content in this major patch are being withheld at this time to preserve the element of surprise when it is released.
The new game mode supports both single-player and multiplayer! New features for cooperative play are also in the works
The Q&A section in the latter half of the newsletter also touches on future content additions.
The new game mode currently in development will support both single-player and multiplayer. While details will remain under wraps until November 13, it was revealed that the team plans to add more features designed for long-term cooperative play and is also planning to introduce new character classes.

Additionally, the team plans to revisit the custom mode as the release of the official Version 1.0 approaches. While they expressed enthusiasm for adding features that enhance player freedom, they also explained that there are constraints, such as controller support and font size adjustments.
Furthermore, the developers indicated plans to add a feature allowing players to view beta art for cards and chronicles, and expressed a positive stance toward official derivative works—such as graphic novels and anime—based on the *Slay the Spire* universe.
However, it has not been confirmed that all of these features will be included in the November 13 patch.

*Slay the Spire 2* is currently available in Early Access on PC (Steam). The next major beta patch is scheduled for release on November 13, 2026.
