Konami Digital Entertainment and Annapurna Interactive have released an update (Patch 1.6.0) for the psychological horror game *SILENT HILL: Townfall*, developed by Screen Burn. A new "Hard" difficulty level has been added, and balance adjustments have been made across all difficulty levels to ensure a smoother progression.
Struggling with Difficulty Adjustments
This title is the latest entry in the *SILENT HILL* psychological horror series, released on September 24. The game is played entirely from a first-person perspective, and players aim to survive by making use of a pocket TV and a limited selection of items and weapons.
As of this writing (October 29), the game has received “mixed reviews” on Steam, with 68% of 3,946 reviews stating they “recommend” it; however, many players have pointed out that the difficulty is often unreasonable or stressful.
An update released on October 8 (Patch 1.4.0) adjusted the “wait” mechanics and creature balance, but some players have since expressed that the game now feels underwhelming as a result.

The update released today, October 29 (Patch 1.6.0), adds a new “Hard” difficulty level. It is described as “a difficulty level where stealth is even more important and requires patience and careful resource management.”
