On October 28, 2026, independent game developer Tryzna83 officially released the 3D dungeon RPG *Shadows of Thornkeep*, which he developed and publishes, on PC (Steam).
From Early Access to Official Release in About a Year: A 3D Dungeon RPG Featuring an Open World

This game is a non-real-time 3D dungeon RPG where you form a party of four to explore dungeons across various regions. It features the following elements:
Grid-based dungeon exploration: Explore twisted corridors and cursed landscapes using a
classic turn-based system.Turn-Based Combat
: Command your party in tactical battles where every action matters. There’s no need for tedious real-time maneuvers like sidestepping to avoid monster attacks.Roguelike Elements:
Death isn’t the end, but resurrection comes at a cost.Party and Camp Management
: Prepare the souls of your lost companions, meet their needs, and keep them in top condition for your next expedition.Loot-Based Progression System: Discover
powerful gear, cursed artifacts, and resources to survive the island’s trials.Handcrafted Pixel Art
: The dark atmosphere is brought to life through sprites meticulously crafted pixel by pixel, down to the finest details.

The game entered Early Access on November 4, 2025, and was officially released approximately one year later.

The Steam news announcement regarding the official release mentions that, with the 1.0 release, the game’s content has nearly doubled following Early Access, and previously lacking elements—such as visual effects, sound effects, and background music—have been largely addressed. While the game is niche, the developers note that it is a title they’ve wanted to create for many years.

The developers also highlighted the need for a tutorial as one of the lessons learned during the Early Access period. Since this element was insufficient at the start of Early Access, they gradually created a small tutorial area, which ultimately led to the open world—the largest feature added during the Early Access period.
“Shadows of Thornkeep” is currently available on PC (Steam) for 1,200 yen (960 yen until November 5). It does not support Japanese.
