Red Art Games has released *Joe & Mac Retro Collection*, a compilation of the action game series developed by its studio, Red Art Studios, for PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.

Adventures in the Stone Age, Once Again

This collection includes three Super Famicom titles from the *Fight, Caveman!* series, originally released by Data East.

The collection includes the following three titles: the original game and the third installment, featuring Joe and Mac, as well as the second installment, which features a new protagonist named Rookie.

  • *JOE & MAC: Fight, Cavemen!*
Released as an arcade game in 1991, with a Super Famicom version following later that same year. Joe and Mac use prehistoric weapons to battle the dinosaurs blocking their path as they set out to rescue their kidnapped daughters.

  • *Fight, Cavemen! 2: Rookie’s Adventure* features Rookie—who can transform into both a
monkey and a caveman—as the protagonist. Aiming to rescue his girlfriend, Ai-Ai, who has been kidnapped by enemies, he faces off against the dinosaur god “Gao” and others.

  • *Fight, Caveman! 3: Joe & Mac Are Back*
: Joe and Mac return for a new adventure to reclaim the village crown stolen by Hoover, the leader of the Dotagons. The game also incorporates elements such as marrying a partner and having children.

In addition to offering both Japanese and international versions of each title, the collection includes various features designed to enhance the gameplay experience, such as a rewind function that lets you go back before making a mistake and the ability to save your progress anytime, anywhere. It also features a new Boss Rush mode where you take on the bosses from all three games one after another.

Note that on Steam, Ziggurat and 612 Games previously sold *Retro Classix: Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja*—a port of the original arcade version—and *Retro Classix: Joe & Mac Returns* (which is not included in this collection), but both titles are currently out of stock.

In 2022, Microids also released *New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja*, a remake featuring completely revamped graphics based on the original arcade version. For this collection, Red Art Games—known for titles such as *Super Bomberman Collection*—brings the three Super Famicom games to modern platforms.

*Joe & Mac Retro Collection* is currently available for PC (Steam) and XBOX Series X|S. A 10% discount sale is currently underway at each store; it can be purchased for 2,340 yen on Steam and 2,115 yen on the Microsoft Store.

Additionally, the collection is available internationally for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
