Altergaze has announced *The Veil Express*, a heartwarming management game set aboard a magical train invisible to humans.
Maintain the Magic
In this game, you manage a magical train that serves as a hideout for goblins, witches, fairies, ghosts, and vampires—all of whom have lost their place in the human world after being hunted by Inquisitors.
As the conductor, you must arrange their living quarters and workshops on the train, keep them happy, and maintain the power of “The Veil”—the magic that protects the train. In addition to a classic journey featuring five different endings, the game includes a sandbox mode with no specific goals or predetermined outcomes.

Five Clans, One Train
Each clan boards the train with their own living quarters, workshops, and essential supplies, but no clan can survive on its own. The goblins produce the food that the other three clans rely on; the witches cast spells on the items the fairies need; and both the ghosts and vampires depend on the fairies’ “Drops of Life.”Make one clan happy, and the next clan will board the train. Forty-two rooms, fourteen items—all housed on a single train.
The Magic of the Veil
The Veil is a magic that hides the train from human eyes. Happy passengers strengthen the Veil, while unhappy passengers weaken it. If the Veil becomes too thin, the Inquisitor will discover the train. However, the Veil is also a magic that can be used. You consume Veil every time you build a new room; the workshop uses it while in operation; and even keeping the train running draws on its power. If you build too hastily, you risk losing the very magic that protects everyone.
Build It Your Way
Add and upgrade cars, arrange living quarters and workshops, and connect production chains on your side-scrolling cross-section train. Choose from six types of cars—ranging from standard to three-story models—and place stairs however you like. Name your train and choose its paint scheme.Along the way, families will ask for help, merchants will propose deals, and your train will travel through eight regions, from Mist Swamp to Frost Peak.
Embark on Five Different Journeys
On every journey, you’ll have to rethink your train’s layout—from the rooms you build to the needs you must fulfill.
“The Longest Journey”: The classic journey. Expand and upgrade your train while gathering the five clans, and choose one of five endings—from the Witch’s Sanctuary to the Goblin Empire.
“Veil of Night”: A more arduous journey. Seven harsh lands under the polar night, even harsher environments, passengers with ever-increasing demands, and a much longer train await you.
“Separate Paths”: A journey of challenge. Each clan remains in its own dedicated car, and there are no cars to purchase or upgrade. Due to limited space, every single room becomes crucial.
“The Lost Car”: A challenging journey. You start with a broken-down train and must manage the lost cars that join every six days. Only half the cars are built, and the other half are filled with strangers. In an even harsher environment, you cannot buy cars or demolish anything.
“Sandbox Express”: All clans board the train, and every room is available from day one. There are no objectives and no set ending. Build the train of your dreams.

*The Veil Express*, featuring cute pixel art, is scheduled for release on Steam on December 2 (local time). A demo version is also available.
