Game developer Geoff Jones announced that the PC open-world RPG *Code of The Savage* has surpassed 30,000 wishlist entries.

Dark fantasy RPG inspired by classic RPGs from the ’80s and ’90s is drawing attention

This top-down survival open-world RPG is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by *Ultima VI* and *VII*. The story begins when the player—a character named “Nakras”—is enslaved after his village is raided, only to be cast off a slave ship and wash ashore on the island nation of Danes.

The game combines classic non-linear exploration with modern presentation, and combat takes place in real time. In a world featuring concepts like day and night and changing weather, you’ll interact with NPCs and explore towns, caves, and dungeons.

The game surpassed 20,000 Steam wishlists on October 5, 2026, and it was revealed that this number increased to a total of 30,000 within one week following the Steam Next Fest held on the 20th of the same month.

In the announcement, the developers stated, “We were overwhelmed by the support we received during the festival,” and expressed their gratitude to users who played and shared the demo currently available on Steam, as well as those who took the time to provide feedback.

The demo supports Japanese and not only includes a tutorial but also offers in-game options such as whether to keep character and location names in English.

*Code of The Savage* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam).
