"Blue Archive" PC Version: Nexon Is Preparing a New Platform—The Current Version, Published by Yostar, Will Be Available Until the Maintenance Begins. We Hope a Steam Version Will Be Released in Japan Too [UPDATE]

Yostar has announced that *Blue Archive* will be transferred to Nexon for operation. On its information page regarding the publisher change, Nexon has provided details on how the PC version will be handled following the transition.

The current PC version will remain available until the start of maintenance for the publisher change.

This title is a social RPG currently available on mobile and PC that combines school life, youth, and storytelling.Although it initially used the tagline “a crystal-clear worldview,” it garnered attention for its violent scenes—such as the appearance of guns and bank robberies. Today, it has gained popularity for its character-driven storylines and human dramas reminiscent of classic “bishoujo” games.

As previously reported, the publisher for this title in Japan—which has been in service since 2021—will change from Yostar to Nexon in January 2027.The goal is to deepen collaboration between the developer, NEXON Games, and the publisher, Nexon, to establish a unified system for development, operation, and IP expansion.

According to the Q&A section on the announcement page, the current PC version will remain available until maintenance begins in conjunction with the publisher change. Regarding the PC gaming environment after the change, Nexon is reportedly preparing a new platform, and the launch date and details will be announced once they are finalized.

Regarding the PC version of this title, a client version available for download from the official website was released in January 2026. There is also a global version available for download via Steam, but this is intended for international players and is not accessible from within Japan.

According to Nexon’s announcement, they are “preparing a new environment for users,” so there is a possibility that the Steam version may become available in Japan in the future.

While the game had been receiving many negative reviews on the international Steam version following changes to the gacha mechanics, we hope it can make a comeback through future developments, including the transfer to Nexon (as of this writing, the Steam version’s recent reviews have recovered to “Somewhat Positive”).

Following the release of the announcement page, Game*Spark contacted Nexon regarding plans to launch the Steam version of *Blue Archive* in Japan. According to their response, they are not yet at a stage where they can provide specific details regarding the PC version’s release plans, including whether the Steam version will be offered.

Nexon states that it is making preparations to ensure players can continue enjoying the game on PC even after the publisher change. While this information mirrors what’s on the announcement page, details regarding the PC version—such as the platform—will be shared once they are finalized.

Account transfer requires linking to a Yostar ID and pre-registration

Maintenance related to the publisher change is scheduled for January 2027, with specific dates to be announced in November 2026. After maintenance, logins will switch to NEXON member accounts, and Yostar IDs will no longer be usable in *Blue Archive*.

All game account data, including Blue Stones, will be transferred; however, to ensure this, players must link their game account to a Yostar ID and complete the pre-registration process before maintenance begins.

Please note that this data cannot be transferred if you remain on a guest account, and if you do not complete the necessary procedures, you will no longer be able to log in to the same account. Details regarding the application process are scheduled to be announced in November.

"Blue Archive" is currently available on PC (official website), iOS, and Android. The full schedule regarding the publisher change and the complete Q&A can be found on the announcement page.
