Myrmecoman and MoreButterGames have released an update adding a co-op mode to the naval sandbox sim *ShipCrafter*.
Build your dream warship with friends! Work together to tackle missions

In this game, you design your own original warships by freely arranging parts such as hull blocks, armor blocks, propellers, and various weapons, then command them to complete a variety of missions.

Whether engaging in combat with various warships—from torpedo boats to destroyers and cruisers—or naval gun platforms, or defending and capturing specific areas, it’s crucial to allocate resources such as speed, firepower, and defense based on the mission’s requirements.
Furthermore, this game is being developed with the goal of featuring precise physics simulations. In addition to a real-time buoyancy system based on weight and displacement, it fully simulates changes in atmospheric density due to air pressure and altitude, as well as projectile ballistics that account for the effect of speed on drag. Penetration checks—calculated based on armor thickness, angle of impact, ricochet probability, and penetration calculations based on the shell’s velocity and mass—resulting in truly realistic behavior.

If you try to cram too many features into the design, you’ll end up with a submarine that unexpectedly sinks without even fighting.
As for this game, an update was released on October 23, introducing a Co-op mode that allows you to play cooperatively with friends.

In addition to a public lobby mode open to anyone, you can also set it to a private mode accessible only to Steam friends. In Co-op mode, you can not only jointly build the same ship with other players but also team up to tackle campaign missions.
Furthermore, during combat, the balance—including enemy health and attack power—is adjusted based on the number of players participating, ensuring challenging and satisfying battles even when playing with multiple people.

Other updates include improved rendering of clouds and the ocean surface using a ray-tracing renderer, the addition of distortion effects when explosions occur on the water’s surface, and changes to how turrets are controlled.
From dream-like colossal battleships to high-speed torpedo boats and submarines capable of freely surfacing and submerging, *ShipCrafter*—where you can enjoy everything from design to combat—is now available on Steam for PC for 920 yen.
