Hanuman Games, the developer behind *Toto and the Magical Journey*, has shared a heartwarming story about “Toto,” the game’s canine protagonist.

In a game he stumbled upon, he found a character that looked just like his beloved dog, who had recently passed away...

In this adventure game, players take on the role of “Toto,” a brave and loyal dog who has been swept away to a magical world by a mysterious tornado, as he searches for a way to return to his owner, “Dorothy.” It is a heartwarming story depicting friendship, discovery, and the longing to return home, and players can look forward to encounters with unforgettable characters.

One day, the game’s development team received a message from Fernanda, a woman living far away in Chile. She wrote that “Toto” in the game looked exactly like her beloved dog, Vicente, with whom she had lived for 16 years, starting when she was six years old.

Vicente had just passed away on September 27 due to old age. Fernanda said she happened to come across the game on social media a few weeks later. In her message, she wrote that while the game brought back the sadness of losing Vicente, it was also a deeply moving experience that stirred special emotions within her.

Deeply moved by Fernanda’s message—in which she described the game as a cherished work—the development team obtained her permission to share this story publicly and decided to add a tribute to Vicente to the game’s end credits. They also held a photo shoot as a team in Fernanda’s honor.

The development team concluded their report by noting that, although they had started production intending to simply tell the story of a small dog trying to find its way home, they learned that such stories can sometimes take on a much greater significance.
