Regarding the high-speed deduction action series *Danganronpa* from Spike Chunsoft, a contract document related to the series bearing the name of the film and TV production company “Bram House” has been discovered, sparking speculation on the international forum Reddit about a potential adaptation.

It is unclear whether an adaptation will actually be produced

The document discovered by a user this time is a “Danganronpa”-related document found in the public records of the U.S. Copyright Office. The “Parties” section lists “Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd.” and “Blumhouse TV LLC,” while the “Remarks” section states “Short Form Option.” The document’s execution date is December 14, 2022, and the registration date is June 4, 2024.

Generally, a “Short Form Option” refers to a simplified version of a contract used in the film and television industries that grants an exclusive right to acquire the necessary rights to adapt a source work into a visual medium for a specified period. However, the existence of this document does not necessarily mean that a decision has been made to produce a *Danganronpa* adaptation.

Bram House is also known for producing the film adaptation of the horror game *Five Nights at Freddy’s*; its latest installment, *Five Nights at Freddy’s 2*, was released in Japan in January 2026.

It has also been reported that in 2025, they are working on a film adaptation of the ghost-hunting horror game *Phasmophobia* in collaboration with Atomic Monster and the game’s developer, Kinetic Games.

Given that the deal is with Blumhouse—which has produced other movie adaptations of video games—comments on Reddit have begun speculating about a live-action adaptation of *Danganronpa*.While some are hopeful that it could be interesting if the characters’ appearances are recreated like in the stage play and the right actors are cast, others have expressed concern about overly Americanized adaptations of the Japanese-style aesthetic.

I found a copyright filing for *Danganronpa* that listed Spike Chunsoft and Blumhouse TV LLC as the parties.
