Atari responded via email to the Game*Spark editorial team, confirming that it will officially release the remastered version of *Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee*, titled *Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered*, in Japan, including console versions.

It was initially believed that the game “would not be released in Japan.”

is a remastered monster arena fighting game based on *Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee*, which was originally released on the GameCube in 2002.

Developed by Pipeworks—the same studio behind the original—the game features 12 monsters, including Godzilla and King Ghidorah, as well as eight stages, such as cityscapes modeled after real-world locations, Monster Island, and an alien mothership. In addition to local multiplayer, it now supports online multiplayer.

As Game*Spark reported in September, it was believed that this title had no plans for a Japanese release, and the Steam store page was inaccessible from Japan. Even though the title is set to be released on November 3—which Toho designates as “Godzilla’s Birthday”—it looked like Japanese fans might not be able to play it.

Then, perhaps coinciding with the release of the PC demo in mid-October, the Steam store page became accessible from Japan.

Not only has the store description been translated, but the demo is also available in Japanese. However, at that time, the Japanese store page for the console version could not be found, and it remained unclear whether the game would be released in Japan.

Now, based on Atari’s response, it has been confirmed that not only the PC version but also the console versions will be released in Japan. As of this writing, in addition to the PC version’s Steam store page, the Japanese store page for the Xbox Series X|S version is also available.

On the other hand, as of now, there are no Japanese store pages for the PS5 or Nintendo Switch 2 versions. It is expected that Japanese store pages for both platforms will be launched in the future.

The demo currently available on Steam features single-player mode as well as local and online multiplayer. Please note that the demo is available for a limited time only, through October 27.
