CD PROJEKT RED announced that it will release the "Edgerunners 2" update (2.5) for *Cyberpunk 2077* tonight, October 22, and has released the patch notes in advance. The patch is scheduled for release on PC, Mac (Steam, GOG.com, and the Epic Games Store only), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, while updates for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions are “coming soon.”
New Side Quest Depicting the Anime’s Prequel
This update introduces a new side quest titled “Clampdown,” which serves as a prequel to the anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.” This quest unlocks after completing “Heist” and two of Wakako’s quests, and as a reward, players will receive a five-piece item set inspired by the character “King.”

A new radio station, “HKGN 102.0 FM,” which plays songs from the “Edgerunners” series, has also been added.
Additionally, during a CD PROJEKT RED Japan Twitch stream, it was revealed that new voice recordings were made for this update. The new recordings reportedly include the voice of the protagonist, V.
Cosmetic Changes for Dual Pistols and Arm Cyberware, Plus Mod Support on Home Consoles
On the combat front, the “Will” skill tree has been updated with the new perk “Double Trouble,” allowing players to dual-wield power-type pistols and revolvers.
It’s also possible to dual-wield Jackie’s “Nue,” which is said to be a way of carrying on Jackie’s legacy, so to speak. However, dual-wielding the iconic melee weapon “Sir John Malacock” is not possible.

In terms of appearance, players will be able to customize the look of arm cyberware—such as the Mantis Blade and Gorilla Arm—at any of the five “GramDoc” locations.

Furthermore, cross-platform mod support via mod.io has been implemented. In addition to PC and Mac, you can install select mods from the in-game menu on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. Please note that on console versions, you cannot earn achievements or trophies while playing with a save file that uses mods.
Other updates include the side quest “Welcome to Paradise,” in which players explore the city guided by Richard Knight’s voice, the addition of 12 Minor Arcana tarot cards, support for DLSS 4.5, and the addition of a field of view (FOV) slider for console versions.
