"Memories Lost": Official X Account for 'KOF' Mobile Game Based on the Original Series May Have Been Hacked—Five and a Half Years After Service Ended, Many Past Posts Disappear, Angering Fans

The official X account for “THE KING OF FIGHTERS for GIRLS” (KOFG)—a smartphone otome game based on SNK’s fighting game “The King of Fighters” and operated by Victor Entertainment Games—appears to have been hacked.

An Otome Game Based on “KOF”

This title is a smartphone otome game based on *The King of Fighters*. It was created as a story in which the protagonist, who becomes the manager of the fighters appearing in the series, enjoys romance and friendship.

After its release on November 8, 2019, the service ended on March 31, 2021.

Amid this, several users who followed the game’s official X account reported on social media that they had received notifications from an unfamiliar account, leading them to conclude that the official “KOFG” account had been “hacked.”

The account in question had been transformed into one claiming to be a therapist, with the profile picture, name, and ID now completely unrelated to the original. Even when searching for the previous ID, the message “Account does not exist” appears.

While some posts—such as maintenance announcements—remain, all posts containing videos and images have been deleted, leading to outcries from fans who feel their “memories have been lost.”
