Pearl Abyss has released a preview video for the latest DLC, "Journey into the Unknown," for the open-world action adventure game *Red Desert*.
Adventures Extending to the Sea and a New Life in Fywell
This DLC expands the setting from the mainland of Faiwell to the sea, allowing players to sail between islands and explore underwater areas where ruins and hidden treasures lie.In addition to new formidable foes awaiting players on both land and sea, life in Faiwell will become even more fulfilling with features such as renting and managing facilities, as well as enhancements to the housing system that allow players to freely customize their homes.
Although the release was originally scheduled for October 15, it has been postponed to October 30 to ensure “higher-quality content and a stable gameplay experience.” Amid this, a new preview video has now been released.
The preview video, which runs approximately 6 minutes and 30 seconds, introduces a portion of the new story centered on Cliff, Unka, and Damian. Additionally, when exploring the seas, players will start by building a ship using resources gathered to venture out onto the open ocean, and it appears they’ll also be able to customize the ship they’ve built.
On the islands you visit, you can build a base with members of the Gray Mane in tow. While the base serves as a hub to expand your exploration range, hostile forces also exist at sea, leading to naval battles.
Away from the battles, in your daily life in Faiwell, you can even marry someone you’ve grown close to. Together with your “Gray Mane” companions, you can run a shop, deciding what to sell and how to operate it while building the shop’s reputation. You can also make a liberated castle your home and decorate the interior to your liking.

The latest DLC for *Red Desert*, “Journey into the Unknown,” is scheduled for release on October 30 at 7:00 AM for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PS5, and XBOX Series X|S. The base game is required to play this DLC.
