"Reading" the 2000s Arcade Music Game Culture

This title is a visual novel based on the arcade music game culture of the 2000s.

Set in a game center in a regional city, the story unfolds around the memories of two girls who were obsessed with arcade music games and the “Communication Notebook”—a notebook used for exchanging messages within the game center.

The protagonist, seeking to uncover the truth behind a certain incident that occurred at an arcade in the past, reminisces about those days with an old arcade friend they’ve reunited with for the first time in 10 years. They’ll work to resolve the emotional misunderstandings that once existed between them.

The newly released demo allows you to play through the early part of the main story.

Additionally, the game’s BGM features original compositions created specifically for this title by “.THi” (Hiroshi Takeyasu), who has been involved in sound design since the dawn of arcade music games, and TAG, who has worked as a director and composer for dance-style music games.

Furthermore, a “Sound Room” has been set up where you can listen to some of these tracks in high-quality audio.

*The Name of the Night* is currently in development for PC (Steam).
