According to a report by the international media outlet VGC, Ubisoft is planning to close its subsidiary development studio "RedLynx" and lay off approximately 70 employees at "Ubisoft Singapore."
New Reports of Closures and Layoffs Following Those in June
According to VGC, Ubisoft is currently reviewing the current projects at each of its studios as well as their long-term viability, and reports have now emerged regarding plans for closures and layoffs at two studios.
Regarding RedLynx—a Finland-based studio known for developing the motorcycle action game series “Trials”—it is reported that the company is not currently working on any new projects. Ubisoft is said to be proposing its closure, as sustaining operations through downsizing alone is deemed difficult.
Ubisoft had previously announced a restructuring plan for this studio in October 2025 that would involve up to 60 layoffs. If the studio is closed as reported, it is expected to affect approximately 52 employees; under Finnish law, the company is required to consult with the employees before proceeding.

Meanwhile, regarding Ubisoft Singapore, following a review of its future role and involvement in the company’s operations, the company is reportedly planning a restructuring and downsizing aimed at ensuring sustainable operations, which is expected to result in 70 layoffs.
The studio has been involved in the development of the *Assassin’s Creed* series for many years and, most recently, led the development of *Assassin’s Creed Black Flag RE:Synchro* by coordinating multiple studios.

In June 2026, layoffs were also reported, including the closure of studios such as Ubisoft Belgrade and Ubisoft Barcelona, which had been involved in the game’s development; at the latter, employees staged a three-day strike in July to protest the layoffs. At the time, Ubisoft stated that the restructuring of the Barcelona team was still in the proposal stage and that no final decision would be made until consultations with employees were complete.
