"Leon" from *Resident Evil* Summoned to Another World!? Official Pawn for *Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen* Released

Capcom has released “Pawns modeled after characters from its other series” for the open-world action game *Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen*, which is currently on sale.

Characters like “Ryu” from *Street Fighter* and “Rudy” from *Monster Hunter: World – The Third* are also making an appearance! In fact, the brothers from *Devil May Cry* were already in the main game…?

*Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen* (hereinafter DD2: DA) is an expansion for *Dragon’s Dogma 2* (hereinafter DD2), the latest installment in the series set in a fantasy world where the player—known as the “Awakened One”—can embark on adventures accompanied by up to three AI-controlled companions called “Pawns.”

In addition to the “Main Pawn” created by the player, it’s possible to temporarily hire “Support Pawns” for your party—you can recruit not only other players’ pawns but also those provided by Capcom.

The highly customizable character creation feature has been a hot topic since the release of the main game, *DD2*, and the demo, and there’s even a trend among users to recreate characters from other franchises. As part of “The Capcom Collectibles”—a video series themed around official Capcom merchandise—the release of Pawns officially recreating characters from other series in *DD2: DA* has begun.

The lineup includes “Leon (Toy Leon)” from the *Resident Evil* series, “Ryu (Knockoff Ryu)” from the *Street Fighter* series, and “Rudy (Real Rudy)” from *Monster Hunter Stories 3*.

While “Leon” is a highly accurate recreation, “Rudy” is of such poor quality that it lacks any recognizable basis—even when taking into account that the original work isn’t anime-style. As for “Ryu,” a contrived “mustache” has been added, and even the official introduction video takes a good-natured jab at it.

Even outside the video, Capcom’s official X account overseas was “hijacked” by “Real Rudy” and “Toy Leon,” who appear to be thoroughly enjoying their lives in another world.

Incidentally, the director of *DD2* was Hideaki Itsuno, and—perhaps in a nod to *Devil May Cry*, which he also worked on—the main game already featured twin-like characters named “Dante” and “Vergil” (*DD2:DA* was directed by Kento Kinoshita). However, while the original series features “cool, mature guys,” the characters here have a striking appearance that’s hard to forget once you’ve seen them.

*Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen* is now available for PC (Steam), PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The price is 5,990 yen for both the digital and physical editions; the physical edition is available only for PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

For those who already own the main game, the expansion DLC *Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion* (2,990 yen) is also available for PC (Steam), PS5, and XBOX Series X|S.
