Gino has announced details regarding the demo version of the PC (Steam) roguelike action RPG *Bless You Again*, including player feedback and planned responses.

Plans to Improve the Feel of Attacks; Seeking Feedback via Demo Footage

This title is an anime-style 3D magical girl roguelike action RPG where players strike enemies with a staff to build up mana and cast spells. According to the announcement, the demo was played by over 2,000 players within two days of its release, and this announcement details the planned updates for the full version based on that feedback.

The developers stated that they will address camera sensitivity, quick camera position resets, and bug fixes in the near future. They also mentioned that they will improve the “feeling” of attacks, which was the most frequently cited point of feedback. They plan to emphasize hit stops and hit effects, and will release footage from the prototype stage to solicit feedback.

Cutscene frame rate matches that of traditional cel animation

Other planned updates include performance enhancements, improvements to game systems such as skills, the addition of new content, balance adjustments, and improved enemy visibility. Additionally, the frame rate for cutscenes uses 24 frames per second—the same as cel animation—to achieve an animation-like quality.

■ Coming Soon

・Enable adjustment of camera sensitivity and movement speed

・A feature to return the camera to behind the character with a single button press

・Bug fixes

■ Regarding the "feel" of attacks

One of the most common pieces of feedback we received was regarding the feedback from attacks.

We are currently testing visual effects that make enemies glow white when hit, as well as enhancements to hit stop and hit effects. Once we have a prototype ready, we’ll share a video, so please let us know what you think.

We’re also still looking forward to hearing “what specific aspects you felt were lacking.”

■ Changes Planned for the Final Release

・Performance and Display Settings

We’ll set aside time for optimization before release and will address frame rate, full-screen mode, resolution, borderless full-screen, and frame rate caps as much as possible.

・Combat and Builds

We’ll expand build options by adding skills and blessings, bringing more variety to character growth outside of runs.

Currently, there are still many skills and blessings we’d like to implement but haven’t yet, so you should notice a significant difference.

We will review the overall difficulty balance, including the disparity in difficulty between regular enemies and bosses, as well as the relative strength of individual skills.

・Clarity

We’ll make it possible to view the details of enemy buffs and debuffs.

We’ll use different colors to distinguish between enemy and ally damage indicators.

We’ll make the warning signs for enemy attacks easier to recognize.

We will fix the issue where enemies are obscured by visual effects and become invisible.

・Yoru

Allows you to change direction while charging.

・Enemies and Dungeons

We’re revising enemy AI to add more variety to their behavior.

We have begun testing to reduce monotony in dungeons. We will share progress as it becomes available.

・Sound Effects and BGM

Many elements have not yet been implemented. We will be adding and adjusting them.

・Key Bindings

We are considering implementing this feature, but it is not yet clear how it will be handled.

■ Regarding Cutscene Frame Rate

Cutscenes are rendered at 24 frames per second, just like traditional cel animation.

This is a stylistic choice to achieve an anime-like motion and is not dependent on your PC's performance.
