KOMODO has restocked select models of its compact gaming PC for the Japanese market, the “Steam Machine,” and its wireless VR headset, the “Steam Frame.” They are now on sale at the official online store, “KOMODO STATION,” starting at 10:00 a.m. on October 13.
A total of four models, including those bundled with the Steam Controller, are back in stock. However, the 256GB model of the Steam Frame is likely to sell out instantly.
The models available for this restock include the 512GB “Steam Machine” model, the “Steam Machine” model bundled with a Steam Controller, and the 256GB and 1TB models of the “Steam Frame”—for a total of four models.
The prices for each model are as follows:
Steam Machine 512GB: 189,980 yen
Steam Machine 512GB + Steam Controller: 204,980 yen
Steam Frame 256GB: 199,980 yen
Steam Frame 1TB: 244,980 yen
The "Steam Machine" is a compact gaming PC developed by Valve and running SteamOS. You can connect it to a monitor or TV to enjoy games from your Steam library.
The compact unit, measuring approximately 16 cm on each side, is equipped with a semi-custom AMD CPU and GPU. It supports gameplay at up to 4K resolution using the super-resolution technology “FSR 4.1” and allows for storage expansion via microSD card. It also features a built-in wireless adapter for connecting to the Steam Controller.
Meanwhile, the “Steam Frame” is a wireless VR headset and controller system that lets you enjoy both VR and non-VR games. It is designed primarily for streaming from a PC and connects to the PC via the included 6GHz wireless adapter.
The device features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16GB of RAM, and SteamOS. Supported titles can be played standalone without streaming from a PC. You can check which games run standalone by looking for the “Steam Frame Standalone Verified” rating.
As of the time of writing (October 13, 10:05 a.m.), all restocked items—except for the 256GB version of the Steam Frame—are available for purchase. It appears that the 256GB model sold out instantly.
Since these are all popular items, if you’re interested, you should purchase them as soon as possible at KOMODO STATION.
