Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled the latest gameplay trailer for “Roger Jr.,” a new character in the fighting game *Tekken 8*, at the “EVO France 2026” fighting game tournament held in France on October 11.The trailer also included a sneak peek at “Yujiro Hanma,” a guest character set to join the game this winter.

“Roger Jr.” is the kangaroo parent-and-child duo that appeared in titles such as *Tekken 5*, and they are making their return as playable characters for the first time in approximately 14 years, since *Tekken Tag Tournament 2*, which was released in 2012.
While the mother kangaroo primarily handles the fighting, this installment also features extensive animations of Roger Jr. himself inside her pouch, depicting the pair fighting together as a team.
Their fighting style is characterized by close-range combat—which compensates for their short reach—and powerful throws. They excel at forcing opponents into a tough choice by utilizing a new stance called “Astronauts,” which harnesses the kangaroo’s unique jumping ability, and “Rocket Stance,” which offers a wide variety of attack options.
Furthermore, the visuals for his special move, “Rage Arts,” are spectacular. He launches his opponent high into the sky, blasting them all the way to the moon—and then proceeds to destroy the moon itself—in a spectacular, over-the-top attack straight out of a gag manga.
According to a commentary by the development team published on the official website, the inspiration for this animation came from the scenes in the endings of *Tekken 5* and *Tekken 6* where opponents were blasted all the way up to the ceiling.
Yujiro Hanma, the “strongest creature on Earth,” has finally been revealed in 3D!
And at the very end of the trailer, “Yujiro Hanma” made an appearance as the fourth additional character for Season 3. In this footage, he can be seen sitting with both legs propped up on a chair and his legs spread wide apart; the 3D model faithfully recreates the muscular physique and imposing facial features characteristic of the original manga.
Yujiro is the father of the protagonist, Hanma Baki, in the “Grappler Baki” series by Keisuke Itagaki. He possesses overwhelming combat abilities and is hailed as “the strongest being on Earth.”
At this point, details regarding the combat system and specific moves have not been revealed, so fans are eagerly awaiting the release of full gameplay footage in the future.
