M2 announced at the “M2 Shot Triggers 10th Anniversary Thank You Festival ~Let’s Jailbreak Together!!~” held on October 10, 2026, that it will release the home console version of the vertical-scrolling shooter *Senjin Alesta* on March 18, 2027.
“Reiwa’s Alesta” is finally coming to home consoles!
*Senjin Alesta* is a brand-new vertical-scrolling shooter that M2 launched in July 2021 on Sega’s arcade distribution platform, “ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Version 3 (APM3).”
Following in the footsteps of the “Alesta” series once developed by Compile, players select a leader from among four protagonists and aim to clear all five stages as a team. The game also features charming illustrations by Mr. Matsushita of Casio.
The home console version being released this time includes two modes: “Senjin Alesta ORIGIN,” a faithful port of the arcade version, and “Senjin Alesta BLADE,” a newly created arranged mode.
In “ORIGIN,” in addition to the arcade version’s gameplay, the “M2 Gadget” is included, which displays information around the screen to help players track their status and strategize. You can also play in Wallpaper Mode, just like in the arcade version.
Meanwhile, the new “BLADE” mode introduces the “Blade Missile,” a powerful new weapon that blows away not only enemies but also their projectiles all at once. Furthermore, players can now switch characters at any time, allowing them to enjoy a different pace and sense of exhilaration compared to the arcade version. In addition, features to assist with gameplay—such as a training mode—are also included.
The physical edition comes in two versions: Standard and Limited! First-print bonuses include a strategy guide
The prices for *Senjin Alesta* are as follows: the digital version is 4,950 yen, the standard physical edition is 7,480 yen, and the limited physical edition is 11,880 yen (all prices include tax).
The physical editions will be released for Nintendo Switch and PS5, and both the Standard and Limited Editions will include the strategy guide “Latna’s Ultimate Strategy Notebook” as a first-print bonus.
The Limited Edition is scheduled to include a special package featuring an original illustration by Mr. Matsushita of Casio, as well as a special booklet titled “Senjin Alesta Official Archive (tentative title)” and a special soundtrack.
Additionally, M2’s official X account is currently running a campaign where 10 winners will be selected via lottery to receive original merchandise celebrating the 10th anniversary of Shot Triggers. The entry period runs until 11:59 PM on October 31.
*Senjin Alesta* is scheduled for release on March 18, 2027, for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4. The PS4 version will be available exclusively as a digital download, while pre-orders are now being accepted for the physical editions on Nintendo Switch and PS5.
