M2 announced *Armed Police Battle Rider (tentative title)* at the 10th-anniversary event for its shooting game brand, “M2 Shot Triggers,” titled “M2 Shot Triggers 10th Anniversary Crossbow Festival ~Let’s Jailbreak Together!!~.”
Characters from Rising Gather Together!
The original game was a vertical-scrolling shooter released for arcades in January 1998 by Rising (now Aiting), and it is the second installment in the “Battle Series.”This “all-star” title brings together characters from Rising’s entire catalog. In addition to the main characters—members of the government’s secret agent unit “ZERO COP”—guest characters from past titles, such as Rising’s debut game *Magic Operation* and the first installment in the series, *Battle Garegga*, will also join the fray.
There are 18 selectable craft in total, and players deploy as a “team”—a rare feature in shooting games.
This game features “M2 Gadgets” as support functions. The “ITEM INFO” gadget lets you check which items will appear next and how many have been dropped, while for *Battle Garegga* craft, you can check the preparation status of “Special Formations.”In addition, the game includes gadgets that let you check the appearance status of the 12 hidden bosses and review your team composition.
The game includes the “ARCADE” mode, which stays true to the original, and “SUPER EASY,” designed so even beginners can aim to clear the game.In “SUPER EASY,” the original game—which was often described as “still too difficult” even at lower difficulty levels—has been thoroughly analyzed; adjustments have been made to certain attacks by mid-sized mechs and bosses that were considered challenging even at the lowest difficulty level. Additionally, multiple arrangement modes are currently under active development.
“Armed Police Battle Rider (tentative title)” is currently in development. Supported platforms, release date, and price have not yet been announced. In addition, the live stream for “M2 Shot Triggers 10th Anniversary Crossbow Thank You Festival ~Let’s Jailbreak Together!!~,” featuring various other announcements, is scheduled to run until 8:15 PM on October 10.
