Ikurie has released new information on Kickstarter regarding the board game “Shin Megami Tensei: The Board Game (SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI - THE BOARD GAME).” The update includes an explanation regarding the payment system—which had reportedly raised some concerns—a report on the consolidation of customer support channels, and a detailed schedule for the future.
A Super-Heavyweight Board Game Now in Mass Production
This board game is based on Atlus’s RPG series *Shin Megami Tensei*. It is a massive, competitive board game featuring 72 demon figures and successfully raised 98,963,619 yen during its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
Although the game is scheduled to begin shipping in November after a series of twists and turns, it was reported on September 24 that mass production had begun at the factory.
Customer Support Process Under Review
In a new announcement on Kickstarter on October 9, the developers addressed concerns raised by backers regarding the payment system. While it was previously revealed that a problem with the payment system occurred on July 21, the developers clarified that the issue only affected shipping preparations; the management of the project on Kickstarter and the handling of backer information and shipping addresses via BackerKit remain fully operational as usual.
The company is currently working on transitioning to alternative payment methods but has stated that it will refrain from disclosing details on this matter as it involves coordination with relevant parties.
Additionally, the company apologized for instances where it failed to meet its stated goal of replying to inquiries “within 5 business days,” explaining that this was due to inquiries being routed to multiple different support channels.They announced that they will consolidate all communication through “Kickstarter Messages” moving forward, and stated their policy is to respond within “7 business days.” They also indicated that they will respond sequentially to all currently unanswered “Kickstarter Messages” by October 13.
