Developer Hippo_Magician has launched a public playtest for "Belt Bound Boxing," a physics-based boxing roguelike game.

From Unknown Rookie to Champion

In this game, where each career path unfolds a unique story, you control a uniquely generated boxer and adapt your fighting style to modifiers that significantly alter their stats and the flow of matches, guiding them from an unknown rookie to a champion. You’ll train hard, study your opponents, negotiate contracts, and manage your life outside the ring as you fight your way to the title.

Key Features

  • One-of-a-Kind Boxers
Every boxer is generated with unique strengths and weaknesses. Extreme stat configurations may even force you to fundamentally rethink your fighting style. A fighter with overwhelming power but lacking stamina requires a completely different strategy than a technical boxer who relies on speed, footwork, and endurance.

  • Modifier Cards Modifier cards bring even more diversity to the game. They grant traits that dramatically alter a fighter’s playstyle. For example, the “Slip & Rip” modifier increases the damage dealt after dodging an opponent’s punch, giving an advantage to defense-oriented fighters. By utilizing these modifiers, you can devise entirely new strategies or develop fighters specialized in specific strengths.

  • Between career
matches, you’ll need to make the most of training camp to improve your skills, analyze opponents, and negotiate contract terms for your next fight. Decisions made outside the ring are just as important as the battles that take place once the bell rings.

*Belt Bound Boxing* is scheduled for release on Steam in Q2 2027 with Japanese language support. You can participate in the playtest by clicking the “Join Playtest” button on the store page.
