Norsfell announced its new title, *Aftergods*, during the “Triple-i Initiative Showcase,” which aired on October 9 at 1:00 a.m.
Build a new pantheon of gods in a post-Ragnarok world
This title is a top-down survival-light ARPG developed by the team behind *Tribes of Midgard*.
The setting is a handcrafted, mythical open world where Norse, Greek, and Egyptian mythology coexist.Players take on the role of a “Godborn”—the child of a god who unexpectedly survived Ragnarok—and carve out their own legend, one that has yet to be told. The goal is to rise from the ruins of a collapsed world, form a new pantheon of gods, revive the seeds of the shattered World Tree, and restore balance to the universe.
To elevate your status as a god, it is essential to gather distinctive followers—including both gods and humans—build magnificent temples, and forge powerful gear. On top of that, you’ll face off against the giant monsters threatening various regions. The adventure can be enjoyed solo or through cooperative play with friends.
Julian Maroda, Creative Director at Norsfell, commented on the game: “Building on the success of *Tribes of Midgard*, we’ve woven together various mythologies from around the world, going beyond the framework of Norse mythology.”He revealed that he was fascinated by how closely the legends of different regions are intertwined, which led to the question: “What would happen if the gods lost their source of divinity and the world collapsed?” Furthermore, he described this title as “our most ambitious project to date” and stated that more details about the new world and its realms will be revealed in the future.
The animated trailer was produced by Powerhouse Animation Studios, known for “Blood of Zeus”
The animated segments in the announcement trailer are original footage created by Powerhouse Animation Studios, known for the Netflix animated series *Blood of Zeus* and *Castlevania*. The music was recorded live by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, consisting of over 60 musicians.
The developer, Norsfell, is based in Montreal, Canada. Its previous title, *Tribes of Midgard*, is a survival, roguelike, and ARPG that can be played by 1 to 10 players.Immediately after its 2021 release, it surpassed 500,000 copies sold in just one week, and has now exceeded 5 million copies sold worldwide.
