"Project Zomboid" FPS/TPS Mod Released: Experience the Terror of Zombies Closing In from Behind in 3D

Two mods have been released that transform the open-world zombie survival game *Project Zomboid* into an FPS/TPS.

The 3D graphics significantly enhance the sense of immersion!

The open-world zombie survival game *Project Zomboid* is set in the fictional Knox County, modeled after the Louisville area in Kentucky, USA. The goal is to survive as long as possible amid the chaos caused by the spread of a zombie virus.

While the game typically uses a quarter-view perspective, two mods—"pz3d" and "Project Viewpoint"—have been released to convert it to an FPS/TPS format.

Installing these mods transforms all objects—including your character and enemies—into 3D models, allowing you to face enemies head-on and attack them just like in a typical 3D action game. This significantly enhances the sense of immersion while enabling intuitive controls.

“pz3d,” the first mod released on September 25, features somewhat subdued graphics that seem to have been rendered in 3D while preserving the original game’s atmosphere.

On the other hand, “Project Viewpoint,” released later on September 28, features enhanced graphics, including a wide range of shader settings that incorporate various effects such as cloud rendering and god rays.

Thanks to the 3D conversion, players can experience a level of immersion impossible in the vanilla game—not to mention the shock of being ambushed by a zombie from a blind spot behind them.

Both the “pz3d” and “Project Viewpoint” mods—which convert *Project Zomboid* to an FPS/TPS—are currently available on the Steam Workshop. Please check the respective pages for detailed installation instructions, including required mods, and install them at your own risk.
