"Tales of Eternia Remaster" Now Allows Players to Switch to a Pixel-Art Font! In Response to Fan Feedback, an Update Adding a "Classic" Style Will Be Released Simultaneously with the Game's Launch

On October 9, the official “Tales Channel+” X account posted that it would release an update file to coincide with the launch of *Tales of Eternia Remastered*.

Players Can Choose Between “Remaster” and “Classic” Versions

Regarding *Tales of Eternia Remastered*, set for release on October 15, 2026 (October 16 for the Steam version), the difference in in-game fonts between the remastered version and the original PS and PSP versions has become a hot topic.

In the remastered version’s trailer released during “Nintendo Direct 2026.6.9,” you can see that the font has become smoother, and the speech bubbles have been made smaller to match the font. On X, comments such as “The atmosphere is different. I preferred the PS-era font” were posted.

It’s unclear whether this change was made in response to such reactions from fans of past titles, but an update timed for the game’s release will add a feature allowing players to choose between two in-game font styles—“Remastered” and “Classic”—exclusively when playing in Japanese.

Players can switch fonts at any time from the customization menu; based on the images, the “Classic” font appears to feature a pixel-art style reminiscent of older games (*Note: The font switch does not apply to all text).

Additionally, the update will add “Titles” to the carryover elements for New Game+ and beyond.
