Capcom has released gameplay footage showing *Monster Hunter Wilds* for the Nintendo Switch 2 running in Handheld Mode.
Following the Grand Gathering Hall footage, this new video shows gameplay during combat
Previously, gameplay footage showing the console placed on a table and players moving around the Grand Gathering Hall was released; this time, however, viewers can see combat against monsters and movement across the field.
The released footage consists of direct screen recordings of the console in Handheld Mode. It shows a hunt for a Rathian in the “Crimson Forest,” featuring the back-and-forth battle with the Rathian as well as the player traveling across the field on a Secret.
Judging by the footage, there don’t appear to be any significant slowdowns while moving across the field, and the game seems to run smoothly even during combat. Since the footage was recorded directly from the console screen, it’s impossible to determine the exact frame rate, but it looks promising for hunting in Handheld Mode.
Game*Spark has also published an article detailing the graphics settings and frame rates confirmed during an early hands-on with the Switch 2 version of *The Wilds*.
According to the article, the Switch 2 version allows users to adjust graphics settings to a certain extent, and in Handheld Mode, players can choose between “Locked at 30 fps” and “OFF” for the frame rate setting. However, it is unclear which setting was used in the footage shown here.
The Switch 2 version of *Monster Hunter Wilds* is scheduled for release on December 4, 2026.The download version (Standard Edition) is priced at 4,990 yen (tax included), and until 11:59 PM on January 7, 2027, it can be purchased at a special early-bird price of 3,742 yen (tax included).
