Imageneer has released the fishing action RPG *My Fishing Diary*, developed by Toybox, for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Use the field guide to predict where fish live! The strategy begins even before you cast your line
This authentic fishing game lets you enjoy freshwater and mountain stream fishing at locations such as rivers, lakes, and ponds, all rendered in a warm, Japanese-style art style.

But it’s not just about enjoying fishing—the game also features a fantasy-style story, in which players embark on an adventure to restore the colors lost due to a “curse” cast upon the world. Together with adorable supernatural companions, you’ll fish to lift the curses cast upon a total of eight fishing spots.

When it comes to the core fishing mechanics, exploration and strategic decision-making are key. In particular, exploration isn’t about simply spotting fish; instead, the gameplay emphasizes using the field guide to identify fish habitats and casting your line at predicted spots—requiring both strategic thinking and the instincts of a skilled angler.

The game features over 100 species of fish. In addition to real-world species like ayu and oikawa, it also includes original “mysterious fish” created for the game, whose appearances have been altered by the curse.
As for fishing gear, a wide variety of rods and lures are available, and meticulous preparation tailored to your target fish will likely determine your success.

“My Fishing Diary” is currently available for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
