The third-person shooter *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2*, published by Focus Entertainment and developed by Saber Interactive, is currently on sale on Steam for 2,450 yen—a 75% discount.

This major sale offers a discount of 7,350 yen off the regular price of 9,800 yen, and as of this writing, the game is ranked 17th on Steam’s global sales chart.

Become a super soldier and crush hordes of enemies! Plus, it supports 3-player co-op.

Set in the world of the sci-fi franchise “Warhammer 40,000”—known for its miniature games—this is a third-person action game.

Players take control of a “Space Marine,” a superhuman warrior serving the human empire known as the “Imperium.” With Lieutenant Titus—who appeared in the previous game—as the protagonist, the game depicts fierce battles against hordes of Tyranids and other threats to the galaxy.

A defining feature is the sheer volume of enemies that swarm the screen, nearly filling the entire display. Players don’t just fire away with firearms; they must combine melee attacks with chain swords, parries, dodges, and finishing moves to mow down hordes of enemies one after another.

The combat is incredibly spectacular, featuring numerous brutal execution moves—such as slicing enemies with a chainsword or blowing their heads off at point-blank range—that send blood and flesh flying. You’ll experience the exhilarating thrill unique to this game as you charge into swarms of enemies that fill the screen and crush them one after another.

And this game isn’t just about playing through the story alone and calling it a day. The campaign—which tells Titus’s story—supports not only solo play but also co-op play for up to three players. In addition to the campaign, there’s also “Operations,” a three-player co-op PvE mode where you can train your own Space Marine and repeatedly tackle missions.

In “Operations,” you can choose from classes with distinct abilities and strengthen your character by unlocking weapons and perks. By dividing roles among your teammates, you can enjoy long-term play as a co-op game where you mow down the endless waves of enemies.

The game also includes “Eternal War,” a 6-on-6 PvP mode where Space Marines clash against one another. Between the campaign, co-op PvE, and PvP, there are multiple ways to play even within the multiplayer experience alone.

A major free update has just been released

Furthermore, on October 1—coinciding with the start of the Steam Autumn Sale—Patch 15, known as the “Anniversary Update II,” was just released.

One of the biggest new additions is “Chaos Siege.” Players can now control the “Heretic Astartes”—rebels who have previously appeared mainly in PvP—and enjoy combat from a new perspective, fighting not only the Tyranids but also Imperial forces.

Additionally, for players who have thoroughly mastered PvE, a new endgame feature called “Crucible” has been added. Players can challenge themselves to high-difficulty battles by imposing their own disadvantageous conditions and earn exclusive progression elements and rewards.Other updates include the addition of new weapons, such as the one-handed Thunderhammer; major adjustments to the Tactical class; expanded customization options; and improvements to load times, performance, and connectivity.

Although the game was released in 2024, content updates continue to this day due to its immense popularity. Additional PvP content is scheduled for release sometime in 2026, and plans are in place to introduce new classes, Operations, and weapons in 2027.

Even if you’re not familiar with “Warhammer 40,000,” this is a game you can jump right into as a co-op action title where you become a heavily armored superhuman and team up with friends to crush hordes of aliens.

Especially for those who “were curious but hadn’t bought it at 9,800 yen” or “are looking for an action game to play with friends,” this price drop to 2,450 yen makes it a much more accessible opportunity.
