"UNDERTALE," the landmark indie RPG created by Toby Fox, and "DELTARUNE," which tells a parallel story, are currently on sale on Steam.
[980 yen → 245 yen] The landmark indie RPG *UNDERTALE* is 75% off
Released in 2015, *UNDERTALE* was touted as “an RPG where you don’t have to defeat anyone.” It features a system where, during battles with enemies, you can win them over through conversation and actions—rather than just attacking—to avoid combat altogether. This system gives rise to branching storylines, and its shocking yet moving “story that resonates with the soul” has left a lasting impression on many players.
In combat, players can deal massive damage with well-timed attacks, and the game also features elements where you dodge enemy attacks in a style reminiscent of bullet hell shooters. The soundtrack is another major draw; even those who haven’t played the game have likely heard famous tracks like “MEGALOVANIA.”
The game’s Steam store page has garnered approximately 300,000 user reviews and has earned an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating.
[3,980 yen → 3,184 yen] “DELTARUNE” is 20% off; Chapter 6 is scheduled for release in 2027
‘DELTARUNE,’ a parallel story to ‘UNDERTALE,’ is also on sale. The game uses a chapter-based system, with Chapters 1 through 5 currently available. Chapter 5 was just added as a major update on June 25, 2026.
The combat system builds on the bullet-dodging battles of *UNDERTALE* while incorporating a wider variety of actions and mini-games. It features creative bullet-dodging battles said to be influenced by *Touhou Project* and *Chrono Trigger*.
Game*Spark previously reported on a sale for this title during the December 2025 Winter Sale, noting that Toby Fox had commented at the time, “I don’t plan on discounting this game very often.”This 20% discount is a rare opportunity even within that policy (in fact, the game wasn’t discounted during the Spring Sale).
According to the official FAQ, the story does not conclude with Chapter 5; development is currently underway on Chapter 6, which is scheduled to be released for free in 2027.
"UNDERTALE" is currently on sale on Steam for 245 yen, a 75% discount. "DELTARUNE" is available for 3,184 yen, a 20% discount. The Steam Summer Sale 2026 runs until 2:00 a.m. on July 10 (Japan Standard Time).
