ProjectMoon is currently running a sale on Steam for the monster management sim *Lobotomy Corporation | Monster Management Simulation*.

Manage Unpredictable “Anomalies”

This roguelike simulation game features a side-view perspective resembling an ant colony, where you manage a company that houses monsters. As the warden of “Lobotomy Corporation,” your goal is to contain and manage SCP-style anomalous entities known as “Abnormalities” (which include both living creatures and non-living tools) and extract energy from them.

You can choose from four types of interventions for the Anomalies: “Instinct,” “Insight,” “Affection,” and “Suppression.” However, since information on each Anomaly is unknown at first, you’ll have to figure out their characteristics by trial and error. If you make a mistake, the Abnormality will escape from its containment chamber, staff members will be brainwashed or mentally corrupted, and this will spread throughout the entire facility, causing a chain reaction that leads to a major panic.

The game’s play cycle involves completing daily objectives as you work toward Day 50. Between management segments, novel-style scenes are interspersed, allowing you to interact with colorful characters like Angela and Sefira.

When you get a Game Over, you can choose to restart from Day 1 or replay that specific day. Your knowledge of the Abnormalities will be your greatest asset in your next attempt.

Furthermore, the game’s portrayal of a “black company” that exploits its staff to meet quotas was described as “a real black company” in a past feature article on Game*Spark.

That article praised the game, noting that “while it is a pessimistic sci-fi story set in a future world where science has advanced while ethics have been left behind, at its core lies a simple human drama depicting the despair and resilience of a small community—all beautifully tied together with cool, Bible-inspired phrases,” and mentioned the subtitle“FACE THE FEAR, BUILD THE FUTURE.”

Emotional payoff awaits beyond 100 hours of grueling gameplay

According to user-submitted data on the playtime tracking site “HowLongToBeat,” the main story alone can be completed in about 58 hours, but the average playtime across all playstyles is approximately 108 hours. Based on my own experience, I feel it takes over 100 hours to fully enjoy the story.

To be blunt, this game is quite challenging. Since there’s a risk of giving up halfway through, I personally recommend consulting walkthroughs or using difficulty-reducing mods. However, since some mods border on cheating, whether you’re using them or consulting walkthroughs, it’s best to do so at your own risk and only to the extent that it doesn’t spoil the fun.

You might have to endure about 100 hours of hardship, but a moving story awaits you at the end.

“Lobotomy Corporation” is currently on sale for 873 yen—a 66% discount—on PC (Steam) until 2:00 a.m. on July 10, 2026. Note that this is the first title in the Project Moon series, which continues with “Library of Ruina” and “Limbus Company,” so if you plan to enjoy the entire series, this is a game you’ll want to play first.
