Sting (a game developer known for the “Dokapon” series) has released the board game RPG “Viractal Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” for the Nintendo Switch 2.

This board game RPG features procedurally generated 3D sandbox maps that players explore by rolling dice, building up their decks with collected cards as they face powerful enemies. Players can enjoy a leisurely solo experience while devising strategies, and the game also supports multiplayer for up to three players.

Cooperative at its core, yet the back-and-forth of “sabotage” remains a key feature

When it comes to Sting’s board game RPGs, the “Dokapon” series is known for its intense head-to-head competition and players trying to sabotage each other, but *Viractal* focuses primarily on “cooperative play,” where players consult with and help their allies to take on powerful enemies.

However, the game’s true charm lies in the fact that it doesn’t remain a completely peaceful cooperative experience.During online multiplayer, a special system called “Devil’s Whisper” may activate, delivering a “secret letter” visible only to that player. You can enjoy psychological battles and strategic maneuvering where you must decide whether to prioritize cooperation with your allies or act solely in your own interest—shaking mutual trust and sabotaging one another.

In terms of exploration, unused movement points from dice rolls are converted into “DP,” introducing a strategic resource management element that can be used for event choices and battle enhancements. In combat, players utilize cards and skills from their deck, and by using Soul Points earned during adventures to forge new characters and cards, the range of strategic options expands with each playthrough.

Features of the Nintendo Switch 2 Version and “Share Mode”

The “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition,” released for the Nintendo Switch 2, features high-resolution graphics, displaying characters, fields, and UI text with greater clarity.Additionally, the frame rate has been increased from a maximum of 30 fps in the Nintendo Switch version to a maximum of 60 fps, resulting in smoother camera movement and combat animations.

Furthermore, as a new feature unique to the Nintendo Switch 2, the game supports “Share Mode.”With just a Nintendo Switch 2 console and a single copy of the game, 2–3 players—including those who don’t own the game—can play cooperatively. Players within close proximity can play via local wireless communication (even on another player’s Nintendo Switch console), and players in remote locations can join the sandbox adventure together via in-game chat.

For users who already own the downloadable version for the Nintendo Switch, the “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pass” is available for 990 yen, allowing them to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

*Vilaktar* at TGS

The game was also featured at the Happinet booth during the recently held “Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS 2026)” (September 17–21, Makuhari Messe), where a demo station with a Nintendo Switch 2 console was set up.

In addition to the demo stations, a miniature replica of the game board was on display at the venue; reportedly, this was printed directly from the game’s actual 3D data. As a result, even the characters’ outfits—such as the mascots attached to their hats—were rendered in exquisite detail.

The Nintendo Switch version of *Vilaktar* is currently available for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The price for the Nintendo Switch 2 version (boxed/download) is 4,950 yen, while the download version for Nintendo Switch is 3,960 yen.Additionally, a substantial demo version for the Nintendo Switch is available on the My Nintendo Store.

Furthermore, the full version of this title has been available on Steam since January 26, 2026 (regular price: 3,960 yen; during the Steam Autumn Sale through October 9, it is available at a 20% discount for 3,168 yen).
