An Indie Game Adaptation by a Star-Studded Crew
This film is a live-action adaptation of the walking simulator game *Exit 8*, created by indie game developer KOTAKE CREATE.
After exiting the subway turnstiles, the protagonist walks down a white underground passageway marked with a sign reading “Exit 8.” However, no matter how long he walks, he never reaches the exit and eventually realizes he is walking the same passage over and over again.
Relying on the rule “Turn back if something unusual happens; keep going if nothing unusual happens,” the protagonist aims to escape the endless underground passageway while discerning the series of anomalies that appear one after another.
The film stars Kazunari Ninomiya. The cast also includes Yamato Kawachi, who gained attention for his role as “The Walking Man” (nicknamed “Ojisan”), and Nana Komatsu as “A Woman.” Genki Kawamura, who directed and wrote the screenplay for *Hyakka*, serves as director and screenwriter. The film was also selected for the “Midnight Screenings” section at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival.
The movie “Exit 8” is currently available for unlimited streaming onPrime Video.
