ININ Games has released version 1.03 of *R-Type Dimensions III*.
You can now view the art book on the console version too!
This title is a full remake developed by KRITZELKRATZ 3000, based on Irem’s side-scrolling shooter *R-TYPE III*.The game has been on sale since May 19, 2026, and holds a Metacritic Metascore of 61, earning a “Mixed/Average” rating. On Steam, complaints about bugs and unpolished aspects—ranging from hit detection to sound—have been pouring in since its release.
In response to this feedback, ININ Games announced its plan to proceed with updates as part of a “comprehensive improvement plan.” So far, they have released two patches addressing a wide range of issues, including gameplay, with a focus on recreating the original version’s controls and mechanics to bring the experience closer to the original.
The third patch includes a comprehensive overhaul of boss behavior in Stages 5 and 6 of Advanced Mode, further refinements to the core gameplay systems, and visual fixes resulting from stability improvements.
Additionally, the digital art book—originally sold on Steam—has been included with the game itself in this patch, making it viewable on console versions as well. A separate digital bonus is available for users who purchased the digital art book on Steam; details on how to claim it will be announced at a later date.
"R-Type Dimensions III" is currently available for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Switch 2,PS5, andXbos Series X|S.
Please note that the publisher varies by platform: ININ Games is the publisher for the PC and Xbox versions, while Tozai Games is the publisher for the Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PS5 versions.
