Independent game development studio Northern Studio has announced that it will release the monster-cooking dungeon roguelike *Abyss Ring* for PC (Steam) on October 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
A roguelike where you cook and eat monsters while tackling dungeons
This action roguelike features 3D dungeons rendered in Unreal Engine 5, which players explore from a first-person perspective. Players aim to reach the deepest level while battling monsters, gathering ingredients, and searching for treasure chests.
The setting for this adventure is the “Abyss Dungeon,” which has yet to be conquered by anyone. The map layout and the enemies that appear change with every attempt, allowing you to enjoy a different exploration experience each time. There are over 200 types of equipment to be found in the dungeon. You can collect gear with different rarities and special effects to create your own unique combinations.

When you return from the dungeon, your level resets to 1, but you can use the skill points earned during your exploration to learn spells and passive skills. By repeatedly venturing into the dungeon, discovering new recipes and gear, and strengthening your adventurer’s abilities, you’ll challenge yourself to reach even deeper levels.

In this game, the monsters that inhabit the dungeons are what satisfy your adventurer’s hunger. You can combine ingredients obtained from monsters—such as turning orcs into tonkatsu, minotaurs into rice bowls, and slimes into jelly—with materials gathered during your explorations to create over 200 types of dishes. Some of these dishes are said to have effects that boost your adventurer’s growth.

A free demo version is currently available on Steam ahead of the game’s release. You can experience the unique adventure of this game—exploring dungeons while cooking monsters.
"Abyss Ring" is scheduled for release on PC (Windows/Steam) on October 26, 2026, at 3:00 PM (Japan Time). The price will be announced shortly.
