Nexus Mods, a major mod-sharing site, has updated the mod sharing page for the original PC version of *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt* to coincide with the release of *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered*. New tags have been added to help users find mods compatible with the remastered version.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered" is a version of the RPG "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," released in 2015, that has been completely revamped—from visuals to gameplay and UI.
While Nexus Mods has had a dedicated mod sharing page for the original version since its release, this announcement addresses how the remastered version will be handled on the site. They announced a plan to list the remastered version on the same page as the original, while adding dedicated tags to each mod to indicate compatibility, thereby enabling users to filter mods accordingly.
According to Nexus Mods, there have been requests to create a dedicated page for the remastered version. The background to this includes concerns that a major update could render most older mods incompatible or make it difficult to find mods, as well as past inconsistencies in tagging during the 2022 next-gen update.
However, while these concerns are valid, the decision was made to consolidate them on the same page as the original version. This decision was made not only to avoid “community fragmentation” and “the effort required for mod authors to post the same mod on multiple pages,” but also because “creating a new page with every major update would only be a temporary solution.”
This time, they’ve introduced a new dedicated tag, “Remastered Compatible,” complete with guidelines, and three experienced mod authors have volunteered to handle the process of adding and removing tags.Furthermore, a system has been implemented to encourage mod authors to flag compatibility during uploads and updates, and a dedicated banner has been added to the home screen that links to a page where users can search for mods compatible with the remastered version.
*The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered* is currently available forPS5/XBOX Series X|S/ Nintendo Switch 2 / Windows (Steam,GOG.com,Epic Games Store,Microsoft Store,Battle.net). A free upgrade from the original version is available on each platform, and an upgrade from the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions is available for 100 yen.
