The developers are aware of the crash reports for the PC version. It is expected to take some time to determine the cause.
Ahead of its official release on October 2, "ACE COMBAT 8" has been available via early access since September 29 for purchasers of the Limited Edition.Meanwhile, several crash reports have surfaced on the game’s Steam user reviews and forums; as of 6:00 PM on September 30, 72% of the 2,753 user reviews are rated “Somewhat Positive.”
The development team appears to be aware of these crash reports. In a Steam news article, they reported that they are investigating the cause and issued a statement saying, “It is highly likely that this issue is not caused by specific hardware configurations alone,” and “We are continuing to investigate the cause and will provide an update as soon as details are confirmed.”
Additionally, the article advises users experiencing crashes to take the following steps:
Check your graphics driver version: If you are using a version other than the
recommended one, please try updating to the recommended version displayed when the game launches.Check free storage space and virtual memory: As a
temporary workaround, please ensure there is at least 16 GB of free space on the SSD where the game is installed and verify that Windows virtual memory is enabled.
