Innersloth has released update v19.0.0 for *Among Us*, which adds a new role called "Influencer."
A new ghost role that intervenes in deductions via “images” after death
The Influencer is a role taken on by a Crewmate who has been killed by an Impostor and enters a “ghost” state. Until now, the “Guardian” was the only ghost role that could support survivors after death, but now a new option has been added.
With the ability to send “messages,” the Influencer can select up to three images from a randomly generated set and send them to surviving crewmates. Depending on the combination of images chosen, the Influencer can convey various types of information—such as hinting at the Imposter’s identity, warning that the Imposter is lurking nearby, or clearing the name of a crewmate under suspicion.
However, it’s important to note that the image options are random, and there’s a limit to the number of times you can redraw them. If you can’t effectively convey your intent with the images you have, it could lead to misunderstandings and potentially result in an innocent crewmate being voted out.You can adjust the ability’s cooldown in the Dropship (Lobby) settings menu, and you must continue to complete tasks even after becoming a ghost.
The developers have also mentioned how this ability interacts with the “Judge” crewmate role, which was added in v18.0.0, released in August.
The Judge is a role that can expel any crewmate of their choice using the “Overrule” ability, regardless of the vote’s outcome; however, if the target is not the Imposter, the Judge will be expelled instead. If the Judge correctly interprets the Influencer’s image, it leads directly to victory, but a misinterpretation could result in an early defeat.
In addition, the following adjustments were implemented in v19.0.0:
A server-side change has been implemented to prevent duplicate login pop-ups from appearing
Fine-tuned the sound effect when the Judge strikes the gavel
Added a “Claim Rewards” button to the Account menu
