"NOMIAD," an open-world sci-fi sim where you take on mining missions off-Earth as a droid, has been announced!

Developer Daniel Aagentah has announced the open-world sci-fi simulation game *NOMIAD*.

Embark on an extraterrestrial mining mission

In *NOMIAD*, players take on the role of a droid assigned to off-world mining missions, operating either solo or in co-op mode. With complete freedom, players design and pilot hovercrafts to fulfill contracts and contribute to the development of the world.

Key Features

  • Multiplayer: Solo play or online co-op with up to a 4-person crew

  • Open World: Explore and travel across a
    desolate planet

  • Crafting: Design and build your own hovercraft

  • Combat: Participate in
tactical contract missions and large-scale battles between opposing factions.

Play Styles

A wide variety of hull modules, command terminals, manned turrets, and more are available for your hovercraft. You can freely customize your craft to suit any purpose, including stealth operations, heavy-lift transport, mining, salvage, reconnaissance, blockade operations, and drone mother ships.

Incidentally, this game is built entirely with WebGL and TypeScript—without using any existing game engines or editors—and everything you see and hear is powered and generated by web technologies.

Furthermore, all entities are designed to have their own lifecycles, roles, and places in the world. Regardless of the player’s actions, various factions—such as allied hovercraft, AMMATH’s drone forces, or pirates seeking salvage—are said to constantly wage war, build economies, and continue to fight over resources.

“NOMIAD,” which is being developed as a proof of concept to realize true simulation mechanics, the lifecycles of all entities, and a fully immersive experience within technical constraints, is scheduled for release on Steam.
