Shochiku Games and rokaplay have announced that they will release the sequel to the hole-digging game, *A Game About Digging a Hole Together*, in the second half of 2026.
The hit digging game, which sold 1.2 million copies, will support multiplayer for up to four players
This title is a digging simulation adventure game and the sequel to *A Game About Digging A Hole*, which has sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide.
The previous title was created by a single developer as a side project during his vacation, and Game*Spark has published a play report on it.
The biggest highlight is support for online co-op play for up to four players—a feature that was reportedly the most requested by players of the previous title. It also supports cross-platform play, allowing you to venture deep underground with friends and family across different devices.

As in the previous game, the core gameplay revolves around a simple yet highly addictive cycle: dig, sell what you find, upgrade your gear, and dig even deeper. On top of that, the game system has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, with new terrains and tools added. It’s said that deep beneath the garden lies an “unknown secret” waiting to surprise players.
Development is handled by Mipumi Games, founded in Vienna, Austria, in 2009, in collaboration with the developer of the previous title. The game reportedly utilizes voxel technology derived from *Solarpunk* for its highly flexible digging mechanics.
Additionally, the team analyzed reviews and comments from the previous game and incorporated player feedback—such as requests for “greater depth,” “new tools,” and “surprising hidden elements”—into new features.
