On September 28, 2026, Yahoo! announced that it would discontinue “Yahoo! Kids” effective December 4, 2026.
"Yahoo! Kids," which has offered many browser games

“Yahoo! Kids” is Yahoo’s educational and search content platform for children. It includes a large number of browser games, and while the available games have changed over the years due to various reasons—such as the discontinuation of Flash games—it has long been beloved as a source of free, safe gaming content.

Among them, “Winnie the Pooh’s Home Run Derby!”—which was available from 2008 to 2020——which was available from 2008 to 2020—became a massive hit around 2012. Despite its simple gameplay—hitting the ball with well-timed mouse clicks—the game was notorious for its brutally difficult challenge, pitting players against a lineup of pitchers throwing all sorts of trick pitches. Amid this, Pooh—the game’s powerful slugger who could effortlessly hit home runs over the fence even at his starting power level—came to be revered as “Big Brother Pooh,” or “Puniki” for short.
Note that “Winnie the Pooh’s Home Run Derby!” has since been removed from Yahoo! Kids, but it can still be played viaInternet Archive.
Yahoo! Kids has brought us such “masterpieces” (?). A special feature looking back on the history of Yahoo! Kids is set to be released in November, so let’s wait with anticipation to see if it will mention Puniki’s stellar performance back then.
“Yahoo! Kids” is scheduled to be available until December 3.
